Dr. Obinna Oriaku 

Dr. Oriaku began his medical education at the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria. During his time there, Dr. Oriaku was recognized for academic excellence and awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Sheffield, England. He then completed his residency at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York. Dr. Oriaku earned his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in September 1999. It is his vast exposure to different countries, cultures, universities and people that he credits for his easy bedside manner and genuine caring for his patients. His patient-focused care has even led the Crown Clinic to be a nationally-recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home. 

Quick Facts:

  • Dr Oriaku is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honor bestowed on physicians who have distinguished themselves with academic excellence 
  • In 2017, he became a Certified Physician Executive after undergoing rigorous leadership training with the American Association for Physician Leadership
  • He is currently enrolled at the Wake Forest Business school and will obtain his MBA in the fall of 2019.
